Cooking From Our Garden

So… this is our second year having a garden. It is still in little cedar boxes {because we have a concrete patio which = no dirt}. But, we love our tiny garden, especially because John’s grandpa actually built our cedar boxes, and trellis for our cucumbers!:) Last week I took my first shot at creating pasta sauce from our very own tomatoes… and it turned out well (yay!:)

This got me wondering… what is your favorite meal to cook with garden fresh ingredients? (I’d love to hear about your mad cooking skills in the comments section below… seriously it will make my day to read about your creations!:)

Catch up with you all soon, oh… and here was the end result of my pasta sauce making adventure…

Hero

Easter is a day that’s celebrated by most Americans for various reasons. I celebrate Easter to remember a historic figure, a Jewish man from Nazareth named Jesus, who claimed to be God. His life was taken for that claim, and now thousands of years later His name is still spoken across the world.

I don’t know what “brand” or “genre” of Christianity has been thrown in your face prior to reading this, but the gospel is simple, and pure, and described beautifully in one of my favorite verses, Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” That’s it.  That is all that there is between knowing God and not knowing God.

I believe that Jesus was, and is, the Savior of this messed up world that we live in. I can’t believe that this life is it. I can’t believe that we exist for nothing. I can’t believe that there is no hope, but I can believe in someone who offered more.

The simplicity is extraordinary, all you have to decide is whether or not you believe it. I do, and if you do as well, I’ll be celebrating in spirit with you today. If you don’t, what’s keeping you from God?

Today I celebrate Him, I celebrate life, and I celebrate in the joy that anyone can have a relationship with God through believing in Jesus. I want to leave you with lyrics to a gorgeous song called “Hero” by Abandon, Happy Easter. <>< Ali

“He walked the dirty streets, famous for nothing. He said come follow me and they came. A face like all the rest, but something was different, The Son Of God would lead the way… and soon they would say…’There He goes a hero, a Savior to the world. Here He stands, with scars in His hands. With love, He gave His life so we could be free, the Savior of the world.’”
